Giant slalom (GS) skis name comes from the racing skis of the World Cup series, but their parameters are totally different.

 

Radius of Commercial Giant Slalom Ski

Usually, skis with a radius between 17 and 23 meters are considered to be GS skis. That enables skier to ride longer turns without being uncomfortable.

GS skis are more suitable for experienced skiers who are not afraid of high speed.

 

Construction and Bindings of Giant Slalom Skis

GS skis are made mostly from wood in combination with other materials such as carbon and titanal.

Bindings in this category have release force up to 120 kg of skier weight, but we can find also much stiffer models with  release force up to 200 kg of skier weight.

Some GS ski use special plate under binding that improves drivability of the entire ski.

Excellent performance at high speeds and smooth flow in turns, that's what you can expect when choosing GS skis.

 

Giant Slalom Ski Length

The suitable length of GS skis is your body height, but based to your skiing skills it may be a little less up to -10 cm of your body height.
