Telemark Skis

Telemark skis are gaining on popularity every year. If you want to experience a new feeling on the snow, "unclip the heel."

It is important to choose according to your riding style and experience.

If you are a beginner, we recommend sksi with a radius of 14 m and more.

If you already have some experience with telemark skis or you are a good skier for whom carving skiing is no problem then choose the radius of 14 m and less. You'll soon find that telemark carving turns inspire you.

Skis should be 5-10 cm longer than the classic alpine skis. You will need special (Kandahar) bindings enabling the heel to move up and also ski boots with rubber bend.

Ski Touring Skis

Ski touring equipment is almost identical to normal skis except for couple of safety tools. Main difference is binding that enables walking movement of your feet. Climbing skins (previously known as seal skins) are fastened on the base and prevent you from slipping during your climb up a slope.

One of the basic requirements for ski touring equipment is minimized weight. It is far more important than anything else.

When buying the ski touring equipment make sure that bindings and boots are compatible. There are several different bindings systems, such as the Silvretta or Dynafit. It is important to realize that you are going to move in the crude terrain (off-piste) and therefore first aid kit, avalanche transceiver, avalanche probe, and shovel should be included in your basic equipment. If you tour in Giant Mountains, ice axes and crampons are not a necessity, but if you are touring in Alps, make sure you will take also the rope and carabiners.

Telescopic poles are also standard equipment of ski alpinists.

You can choose skis of top brands (K2, Blizzard, Atomic, Völk, Fischer ...) in two categories - tour ride and allround with radius of 17-22 m.
